The
Chief Financial Office/Chief Administrative Office Investment
in Excellence – Applied Learning Program, the (Practical
Track) supports succession planning for financial and
administrative activities through focused training and developmental
assignments. The (Academic Track) supports
succession planning for financial and administrative activities
through part-time training assignments in job or career-related
studies at an accredited educational facility.
The purpose of both programs is to allow employees to develop
the knowledge and skills needed in current and future positions.
 SPIDER (System
Personnel Information, Dissemination, Extraction and Reporting)
is a web-based dynamic database application that provides real
time personnel reporting capabilities. The reports include exception
reports, tables of organization, position by series, staff by office,
and anniversary reports.

The
Chief Financial Office Peer
Recognition Awards Program provides CFO/CAO employees the opportunity
to express their appreciation to a colleague who has helped them
in some unique way.
The
awards procedures were developed to inform National Weather
Service (NWS) employees of the various Department of Commerce,
National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, and NWS awards.
In addition, the procedures explain the responsibilities of CFO3
and the Financial Management Centers.
The
Non-Technical, Government, Training Procedures were developed
to provide guidance to all NWS personnel on the announcement
periods and application processes for various training programs.
