NWS Employee Brings New Meaning to 'Working Together to Save Lives'



Emergency responders work to free a woman trapped in a pickup truck. NWS Regional Maintenance Specialist Larry Tennison was the only witness to the accident near Leakesville, MS, May 6, involving a pickup and a runaway logging truck.

Tennison used his cell phone to call for assistance. His quick action brought emergency response units to this accident within minutes. The driver of the pickup truck was taken immediately to the hospital via ambulance while units freed the pinned-in passenger. Upon release, the passenger had good vital signs. She was transported by helicopter to receive critical emergency care services.
