NWS Employee Brings New Meaning
to 'Working Together to Save Lives'
Emergency responders work to free a woman trapped in a
pickup truck. NWS Regional Maintenance
Specialist Larry Tennison was the only witness to the
accident near Leakesville, MS, May 6, involving a pickup
and a runaway logging truck.

Tennison used his cell phone to call for assistance.
His quick action brought emergency
response units to this accident within minutes. The driver
of the pickup truck was taken immediately to the hospital
via ambulance while units freed
the pinned-in passenger. Upon release, the passenger
had good vital signs. She was transported by helicopter
to receive critical emergency care services.
