Birmingham Meteorologist Intern Jessica Stroupe and Lead Forecaster Mark Linhares pose with a coach at the annual Alabama Sports Expo, held over the weekend of July 31/August 1, 2004. Staffers from Birmingham, Huntsville, and Mobile, AL, and Tallahassee, FL, spoke to more than 1,000 coaches during the event, providing weather information and handing out brochures focused specifically on lightning and heat safety during outdoor sports activities.
