FROM GISC/RTH WASHINGTON DATA MANAGEMENT

NOTICE TO ALL USERS OF EMWIN DISSEMINATION SERVICES:

Subject: Restricted Use of Products Received in EMWIN Virtual

Channels on the GOES-16 HRIT/EMWIN Broadcast

All products received in EMWIN virtual channels (VCID) 20, 21 and 22,
on the GOES-16 HRIT/EMWIN broadcast should NOT be used for operational
purposes until specifically authorized by the NWS.

The NWS enterprise EMWIN software supporting the broadcast service is
scheduled to commence its 30-day acceptance test in January 2018.
Following successful test completion, the NWS will release an announcement
authorizing the use of all products in EMWIN VCIDs 20, 21 and 22 for
operational purposes.

Valid products are being sent by the enterprise EMWIN software over
the EMWIN virtual channels for pre-operational system verification
checks. Until the software enters the 30-day acceptance test, product
availability in the EMWIN virtual channels may periodically be interrupted.
This is to be expected and not cause for notifying the NWS. When in
receipt of products and product discrepancies are noted, users are
encouraged to notify the NWS of the discrepancies using the following
email address:

nws.emwin.support@noaa.gov

Notification of a product discrepancy should include either:

(a) a copy of the file containing the product with discrepancy, or,

(b) the identity of the product WMO header, AWIPS identifier (if present),
and the source of the product as either the HRIT/EMWIN satellite broadcast or
the EMWIN FTP File Server.

Questions or comments may be addressed to:
nws.emwin.support@noaa.gov

For NOAAPORT and NON-AWIPS Customers - if you have any
questions regarding distribution or would like to add these
products to your data stream please contact Data Management
