HAS BEEN UPDATED TO INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING NEW INFORMATION

REGARDING THE USER/VENDOR CONFERENCE TO BE HELD AT NWS

HEADQUARTERS AT 1325 EAST-WEST HIGHWAY...SILVER SPRING MARYLAND

ON APRIL 27 2004.  THE NEW INFORMATION INCLUDES THE FOLLOWING:

 

     1.   A TENTATIVE AGENDA FOR THE CONFERENCE.

    

     2.   A REQUEST FOR ALL THOSE INTERESTED IN EMWIN TO SUBMIT

          IN ADVANCE ANY QUESTIONS OR RECOMMENDATIONS THEY WISH

          TO HAVE ADDRESSED AT THE CONFERENCE.

    

     3.   INFORMATION ABOUT OPTIONAL TOURS OF THE NWS

          TELECOMMUNICATION GATEWAY INCLUDING THE EMWIN CONTROL

          CENTER. 

 

CHECK-IN FOR ATTENDEES AT THE NWS CONFERENCE CENTER WILL BEGIN AT

800 AM EDT ON APRIL 27 2004...WITH THE FORMAL OPENING OF THE

CONFERENCE SET FOR 845 AM EDT.  AT THE MORNING SESSION...NESDIS

AND NWS WILL PROVIDE ATTENDEES WITH BACKGROUND ON THE CHANGES

COMING WITH THE NEW GENERATION OF GOES SATELLITES...THE IMPACT ON

THE EMWIN SYSTEM...ESSENTIAL SPECIFICATIONS FOR RECEIVING

SYSTEMS...AND A DEMONSTRATION OF A PROTOTYPE SYSTEM DEVELOPED BY

NESDIS.  THE AFTERNOON SESSION WILL BE DEVOTED TO RESPONDING TO

QUESTIONS AND HEARING RECOMMENDATIONS FOR SYSTEM IMPROVEMENTS.

THE QUESTIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS WILL BE FROM ATTENDEES AS WELL

AS OTHERS SUBMITTED IN ADVANCE BY NON-ATTENDEES.  THE CONFERENCE

WILL ADJOURN AT 400 PM EDT.  YOU ARE INVITED TO SUBMIT

SUGGESTIONS OF TOPICS FOR INCLUSION ON THE CONFERENCE

AGENDA...WHETHER OR NOT YOU PLAN TO ATTEND THE CONFERENCE...BY

E-MAILING THEM TO ONE OF THE POINTS OF CONTACT BELOW.

CONTROL CENTER WILL BE AVAILABLE BY REQUEST ON THE DAY BEFORE THE
