Remnants of tropical storm Hanna were centered over Long Island late tonight, and will continue to track northeastward overnight reaching the Gulf of Maine by Sunday morning. Gradual clearing will spread east across the commonwealth late tonight through Sunday morning. A return to dry conditions is expected Sunday into Monday, as high pressure builds eastward. A cold front from the plains will scattered mainly afternoon showers and thunderstorms to the area on Tuesday. Another period of dry and cooler weather will follow for Wednesday and Thursday.
