NOAA formalized an agreement with Australia's Bureau of Meteorology to collaboratively strengthen meteorological and hydrological forecasting. Signed by retired Air Force Brig. Gen. David L. Johnson, Director of NOAA's National Weather Service, and Dr. Geoffrey Love, Director of Australia's Bureau of Meteorology, the agreement was signed during World Meteorological Day in Melbourne. Each country will create a framework in which a network of scientists will share data and technical capabilities, an important building block for GEOSS.
