The annual budget briefing for National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) constituents will occur on Tuesday, February 3rd, at 10 a.m. at the National Press Club. Currently, the Administration plans to release its FY 1999 budget on Monday, February 2, 1998. If you would like to attend, please contact Bob Hansen ASAP (e-mail Robert.C.Hansen@noaa.gov)
The National Centers for Environmental Prediction (NCEP) held their annual review of the NCEP production suite December 3rd and 4th, 1997. During this meeting, each national modeling center presents accomplishments of the past year and plans for the coming year. Since constituents are also primary users of the models, we are planning a reprise of this meeting for the private and academic sectors at NWS headquarters most likely during the last week in March. More details will be available on this home page in the near future on this upcoming briefing.
A summary of the NCEP meeting in December will soon be available on the web at:
GOES-9 motor winding mitigation will occur from February 7th through March 1st. During this period, GOES 9 data will be lost between 0430 UTC and 1230 UTC. GOES 8 will remain operational during this period to cover for the GOES 9 data loss.
