Subject: Degrib 1.76 take 2
From: "arthur.taylor" Date: Fri, 24 Feb 2006 13:28:00 -0500 To: arthur.taylor@noaa.gov Hi everyone, You all have the unique distinction of being registered on my degrib (aka NDFD_GRIB2Decoder) mailing list (all 1029 of us). Please let me know (email me) if you want to unregister. The latest version of the program is on www.weather.gov/mdl/degrib/ (or www.weather.gov/mdl/NDFD_GRIB2Decoder/). ----------- General News: ----------- News about this release: I have just finished putting together an update to "1.76" (which I announced on 2/21/2006). The reason for this update is that, via Jack Settelmaier (thanks Jack), I found out that the "ndfd.ini" file had a mistake with regards to NDGD's Gridded MOS days 4-7. In particular, for the elements rhm, pop06, pop12, "tkdegrib" accidentally went to GT.mosgfs/AR.conus/VP.001-003 instead of GT.mosgfs/AR.conus/VP.004-007. After downloading the data, "tkdegrib" correctly saved it to: "c:\ndfd\degrib17\data\ndgd\gfsmos\conus\" under "rhm_d47.bin", "pop06_d47.bin", and "pop12_d47.bin". Unfortunately the files actually contained information from days 1-3 (d13) rather than what their names would imply (days 4-7 (d47)). Since this could lead to confusion when working with Gridded MOS data, I felt that an update (as soon as possible) was warranted. If you use Gridded MOS, you can either download the 1.76 dated 2/24/2006, or modify lines 118 to 120 of c:\ndfd\degrib17\bin\ndfd.ini with a text editor. Sorry about this. ----------- Welcome: I'd like to welcome: tclewett, jbw, herman, badwx, slr4083 Please let me know if you have problems. Regards, Arthur
