NAME tkdegrib: Provide a GUI front end to degrib, which allows one to work with GRIB files in various ways. SYNOPSIS tkdegrib DESCRIPTION Allows a GUI interface to the following degrib functions: 1) Inventory GRIB files. 2) Convert from GRIB to various formats. Does not provide GUI access to these degrib functions: 3) Get Meta data from a GRIB message. - Can create the .txt file, but can't easily view it. Does not provide any access to these degrib functions: 4) Probe GRIB files at a specified lat/lon. 5) Convert NDFD GRIB2 files to flat file database 6) Probe the flat file database. It does the GUI part by implementing a Grib2 package in Tcl/Tk. COMMANDS IN GRIB2 package: Grib2Init [Grib2 Command name] Creats a new "object" with the given command name [Grib Command name] [subcommand] ?options? Possible subcommands: "inquire" or "-I", "convert" or "-C", "about" or "-V", "isGrib2", "-refTime" [Grib Command name] inquire ?options? (depricated) [Grib Command name] -I ?options? Options: "-in $fileName" Perform an inventory on the given file, which determines how many GRIB messages there are and what variables they contain. [Grib Command name] convert ?options? (depricated) [Grib Command name] -C ?options? Options: "-in $inFile" "-out $outFile" "-nameStyle 3" "-namePath $ray(dir,Mosaic)" "-msg $msg" "-msg $msgNum" "-Met true" "-Shp false" "-Flt" "-Flt true" "-NetCDF $ray(NetCDF_Version)" "-Csv true" "-MSB $ray(f_msb)" "-nMSB" "-majEarth $ray(majEarth)" "-minEarth $ray(minEarth)" "-Unit e" "-Unit $ray(f_unit)" "-Decimal $ray(decimal)" "-poly $ray(f_poly)" "-nMissing $nMissing" "-GrADS $ray(f_GrADS)" "-Interp $ray(f_Interp)" "-revFlt" "-revFlt $ray(f_revFlt)" "-SimpleWx true" "-SimpleWx $ray(f_simpleWx)" This converts a given message from a given file. It converts it to all formats specified in the option list, storing the results to a file specified by outputName or by namingStyle. Finally, interpolate tells it whether to create a lat/lon converage grid, and interpolate to that grid, or use the grid specified in the GRIB message. [Grib Command name] about (depricated) [Grib Command name] -V Returns information about the version of the tkdegrib program. [Grib Command name] isGrib2 ?options? Options: "-in $filename" Returns true if the given file contains a GRIB message. [Grib Command name] -refTime ?options?
