GUARDIAN's Concept of Operations Guardian was intended to be a general communicator between software and user that could be personally configured in ways to reduce notification distractions and maximize situational awareness. It performs the role of configurable communicator very well, but the old Announcer design is still limiting Guardian and keeping it from being able to reduce the unimportant notices so the important notices don't get lost in the cloud. We are still trying to get OSIP 06-011 through the pipeline to improve the Guardian client application base, however it is unclear how this will proceed. Until then, Guardian will not be able to fully be the task-based filter it had intended to be. Still, there is great strength in what Guardian can do locally. Feel free to talk to other WFOs to see how they have used Guardian to improve their services.
