Functionality

1. Monitors wind speed, gust, wave height, and visibility.

2. zone table displays for each zone:

  • value and threat level for wind speed, gust, wave height, and visibility.
  • threat level for small craft advisory, gale warning, storm warning, and hurricane force wind warning.

3. Station table displays for each station associated with a zone:

  • value and threat level for wind speed, gust, wave height, and visibility.
  • threat level for small craft advisory, gale warning, storm warning, and hurricane force wind warning.

4.Trend plot displays a graph of three hours of reports for a selected station and variable or product.

5. D-2D station plot of the reports within the monitoring area.

6. Ability to customize the monitoring area.

7. Ability to customize the thresholds used by the monitor.

8. Ability to customize the thresholds used by the zone table, station table, and trend plot.

Known Problems

1. Ship reports are missing from the zone and station tables.

workaround: view ship reports in the D-2D staion plot.

2. The wording in the "Update Default Display Thresholds" GUI, which is associated with the zone table, should be changed according to whether zones were added or removed.

3. SAFESEAS:config GUI, which is associated with MA setup GUI, should disappear after the OK button on it was clicked.

4. Default display thresholds can be accidently changed.

Workaround:Close D2D window before launch MA setup GUI (Clicking on the Clear button could not fix the problem).

5. The default monitoring area may be missing some stations near the edge.

Workaround: Use the editor for the monitoring area to add missing stations.
