Welcome to the SCAN/FFMP homepage. We hope you enjoy your visit!
SCAN/FFMP is a collaborative effort involving the National Weather Service (NWS), the National Severe Storms Laboratory (NSSL), and the National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR). The focus of SCAN/FFMP is on improving the accuracy and timeliness of warnings (severe thunderstorm, tornado, flash flood, etc) issued by NWS forecasters, through the development of automated warning guidance.
Funding for SCAN/FFMP is provided by the National Weather Service, the National Science Foundation, and the U. S. Weather Research Program.
