Within the past year, a wealth of new information has become available on the accuracy of the NWS National Digital Forecast Database. One study analyzed the performance of NDFD during big events. Another compared the accuracy of NDFD versus new gridded MOS. A third tracked hour-to-hour changes and improvements made to NDFD throughout the day. What do these new studies show? What might they mean to the future of NDFD?
