Eta MET Alphanumeric Message Extended to 72 hours
Effective February 24, 2004


Included below are sample messages showing the new format for the MET Eta MOS text products.
For a full description of the MET text messages, including categorical descriptions, please see our Technical Procedures Bulletin.
These format changes will take effect sometime in February 2004.


NOTE: At the time of the initial implementation, the 66- and 72-hr forecasts will not be available. Instead, their appropriate missing idicator will be found. We hope to add these forecasts in early April.

NOTE: The obstruction to vision (OBV), visibility (VIS), and conditional precipitation type (POZ, POS, TYP) guidance will be added
to the message throughout 2004. They are included in these sample messages for your reference.
