Instructions for updating bit_table.dat         02/04/09

1. Log into dx1 as root, then to fxa user.

   ssh root@dx1
   su - fxa

2. Save a copy of the site's original bit_table.dat

   cd /awips/fxa/data
   cp -p bit_table.dat bit_table.dat{date}

3. sftp to NOAA1 pub/ndm to get the updated bit_table.dat

   sftp to noaa1
   sftp> cd pub/ndm
   sftp> get bit_table.dat
   sftp> bye

4. Copy bit_table.dat to all servers and workstations to 
   avoid confusion.  The StandardDBDecoder process resides on DX3. 

   chmod 775 bit_table.dat

5. Stop and start ingest on dx3, or kill the StandardDBDecoder process,
   which will automatically restart.

   stopIngest.dx3
   startIngest.dx3

   or

   /awips/fxa/bin/killProc StdDBDecoder

6. Check for new data.
