Weather Demonstration Coordination

The JPDO sponsored NextGen Weather Demo Team will coordinate and eventually consolidate the various demonstrations of NextGen weather capabilities. This multi- government agency plus industry represented team will ensure the demonstrations are consistent with the needs and requirements of the various weather enablers (EN) and operational improvements (OI) as designated in the NextGen Integrated Work Plan (IWP).

Initial focus will be geared toward the Initial Operating Capability (IOC) of a 4-D Data Cube, which demonstrates the seamless exchange of weather information between multiple agencies, using multiple data standards and data protocols.

Goals

1. Identify, categorize, and document the existing NextGen weather demonstrations
2. Provide guidance and assistance on future demonstrations to ensure consistency with the NextGen Integrated Work Plan
3. Provide guidance and assistance on Initial Operating Capability (IOC) demonstrations to ensure they are meeting the requirements of IOC
4. Urge compatibility between subsequent demonstrations
5. Develop a coordinated Demonstration Plan
