Flood warnings are in effect for many rivers in this area. Major flooding along the Kankakee and White Rivers in Indiana; the Sangamon River in Illinois will have the second highest level on record. Flash flooding in the region is receding as dry conditions return. New Jersey: Bergen, Essex, Hudson, Morris, Passaic, Sussex and Union Counties New York: Montgomery and Westchester Counties; New York City and Long Island Ohio: Butler, Coshocton, Hamilton and Preble Counties Pennsylvania: Berks, Blair, Centre, Clinton, Columbia, Crawford, Erie, Lancaster, Lycoming, Mercer, Mifflin, Montour, Northumberland, Snyder, Sullivan, Union and York Counties Tennessee: Cheatham, Davidson, Dickson, Hickman, Humphreys, Rutherford, Sumner, Trousdale, Williamson and Wilson Counties Texas: Nueces County RIVER FLOODING: Rivers and streams with locations either above flood stage or expected to rise above flood stage include: The Mississippi River: Minor to moderate flooding along the lower Mississippi. The river at Cape Girardeau. MO is expected to crest 14 feet above flood stage Sunday morning and at Thebes is expected to crest 12 feet above flood stage Sunday evening. Flooding is reported at locations to Baton Rouge, LA. The Ohio River: The lower Ohio River is flooding from JT Meyers Dam, KY to Cairo, IL. The river crest at Cairo is expected to be 13 feet above flood stage Sunday morning. The Missouri River: Minor flooding is reported along the Missouri river at Miami, Glasgow and Boonville, MO Alaska: the Kuskokwim River Arkansas: the Black, Cache, Lower White, Ouachita and St. Francis Rivers Illinois: the Big Muddy, Embarras, Illinois, Iroquois, LaMoine, Little Wabash, Mackinaw, Patoka, Skillet Fork, Spoon, Vermilion, Wabash and White Rivers; Salt Creek The Embarras River at Lawrenceville is expected to tie its flood of record at 24 feet. The Illinois River is expected to crest at the second highest crest on record at Beardstown. The levee failed at Mechanicsburg in Sangamon County, and the water treatment plant was inundated. The Big Muddy River at Murphysboro is expected to crest 17 feet above flood stage Friday evening. Major flooding is reported on the LaMoine River at Colmar, and the Sangamon River at Riverton. Indiana: the Blue, East Fork White, Eel, Elkhart, Kankakee, Little Calumet, Mississinewa, Muscatatuck, St. Joseph, Tiffin, Tippecanoe, Wabash, White, Whitewater and Yellow Rivers; small stream flood warning issued for small stream in all of central and parts of southern Indiana Major flooding reported along the White river on the northside of Indianapolis Iowa: the North Raccoon River Louisiana: the Atchafalaya River; Bayou Dorcheat Michigan: the Huron, River Raisin and St. Joseph Rivers Mississippi: the Buttahatchie and Tallahatchie Rivers Missouri: the Big Piney, Black, Blackwater, Chariton, Crooked, Gasconade, Grand, Little Osage, Marmaton, Moreau, Osage, Platte, Sac, South Grand and St. Francis Rivers; Big, Petit Saline and Wakenda Creeks Major flooding reported on the Grand River, flooding 38,000 acres of rural land. Record flooding occurred on the Chariton River near Prairie Hill Monday afternoon, and is crested and falling.
