3 IL Rock Island Male 39 One flood-related fatality occurred in conjunction with the victim driving from "dry ground" into water covering the road. Victim’s car began floating and became lodged underneath a railroad viaduct, at which time the victim left his vehicle and was swept away. Police estimated water depth underneath railroad viaduct was 6-7 feet.
3 MO Madison Male 12 Madison County was hardest hit with a few locations receiving in excess of 7 inches of rain. A 12-year old boy died around 5 pm Saturday near Marquard in Madison County. He was found in waist-deep water in a sawmill.
4 TX Polk Female 38 Slow moving thunderstorms moved repeatedly across Polk County, Texas and dumped excessive rain. Between 10 and 12 inches of rain fell from Saturday afternoon, April 3 into Sunday morning, April 4. One observer reported almost three quarters of an inch of rain in 3 minutes. 22 MO Platte Male 48 48 year old male recycling worker was trying to pick up trash that had fallen in the rushing waters of a 4-foot-deep drainage ditch near Weatherby Lake when he lost his balance and fell in. He was quickly sucked into a drainage pipe that ran underneath the 8000 block of Northwest Westside Drive and spilled into Weatherby Lake,
24 MI Eaton Male   Two male canoers are missing and presumed dead after being swept under State Street dam in Eaton Rapids, Eaton County, Michigan, Saturday, April 24, 1999. 2-3.5 inches of rain Wednesday-Friday, April 21-23, resulted in high flows which were turbulent near small, uncataloged dam. Witnesses saw canoers swept under dam, but bodies have not yet been found.
