Issue: Project Planning

Activities: Seann and I met with OHD/HL management on 5/7/2003 to go over the updated project schedule.  We were given the ok to proceed.  The current project schedule is divided into 2 separate ones, one for DMS 1.0 (enhancing the prototype) and another for DMS 2.0 (future AWIPS version of the distributed modeling system).  After we make some minor adjustments to the schedule, we plan to make it accessible over the web.  We will also have a draft project plan, a textual description of the project schedule, to present OHD/HL management in two weeks.

Actions required by OHD/HL:  Attend a meeting in 2 weeks to review the project plan and schedule

Issue: Project Execution

Activities: APEX has purchased and is using the Portland Group Fortran 90 compiler with the existing HL-RMS code. APEX is documenting their findings about the existing prototype and any proposed enhancements. We have been in touch with ABRFC and after talking with them we have a good feel for what the prototype should include.  We will be in touch with them again early next week to confirm our earlier conversations on the functionality to include in the prototype.
