You need to have the following items to run the Interactive Double Mass Analysis

Environment Variable EDITOR

This determines which editor to use when displaying the time series data. The editor MUST be an x window editor (i.e. nedit or emacs). vi editor can not be used.

Historical Data Inventory Database

This database contains information about the NCDC Coop, NCDC SAO, Snotel and USGS data that we have archived at HRL.

runidma script

The user executes this application by executing the command "runidma" which is a Unix script. The runidma script contains a number of statements which can be tailored for each individual user by editing the runidma file. These are:

export IDMA_DIRECTORY=pathname

- where pathname is the path to the Shared Windows Server software.

export HTML_HELP_DIRECTORY=pathname

- (Do NOT Change) tells where to find the user's guide on the hrl web site.

export BROWSER= browser

- set to the web browser of your choice.

export IDMA_DEBUG_ROUTINE=boolean

- set to TRUE to dump which routines where called for debugging to log file or set to FALSE.

export IDMA_DEBUG_SQL=boolean

- set to TRUE to dump queries to database and results for debugging to log file or set to FALSE.

export IDMA_DEBUG_STATION_INFO=boolean

- set to TRUE to dump information about stations and contents for debugging to log file or set to FALSE.

export IDMA_DEBUG_USER_ACTION=boolean

- set to TRUE to dump what the user has done for debugging to log file or set to FALSE.

.Apps_defaults File

The Apps_defaults file contains parameters that are shared by the preprocessors and Historical Data Browser. Please refer to the appropriate documentation for definition of these parameters.
