20. Save Changes to Input File

Once correction factors have been calculated for all break points, you can save them to the preprocessor input file. This must be done before running the preprocessor again so that the preprocessor has access to the new correction factors. Note that the "Save Correction" button on the Calculate Correction Factor screen does not save the correction factor to the file, rather it saves it for use elsewhere in that instance of the IDMA execution.

To save all the correction factors to the preprocessor input file, select the Save Correction To Input File option under the File menu or the disk symbol on the tool bar. Before saving correction factors into the input file, they are checked to see if the user wishes to recompute a factor because the segment has changed due to an add, delete or move. If a factor is identified, the user is asked if they wish to use the factor determined by the tool or to recompute the value. If they wish to recompute the value then none of the correction factors are saved and this save operation is canceled. If the user wishes to use the current value then it continues checking until it has checked all factors and then saves values to input file. Once the correction factors have been saved a message will appear stating that the preprocessor input file has been updated. Note: for MAT data, the F,G and H cards are also updated by copying the new cards from the "pun" file produced by MAT preprocessor.
