This page provides an overview of the IHFS_DB Version OB4 database changes that will occur when an AWIPS site is upgraded from AWIPS Release OB3 to AWIPS Release OB4.

The Informix relational database that supports WHFS Version OB4 has evolved from the previous IHFS_DB Version OB3 to support the functionality changes of the WHFS.

The name of the database at each field site is of the form "hd_ob4sss" where sss is the AWIPS site identifier. This database is deployed at ALL AWIPS field sites.

NOTE, the database name changes from "hd_ob3sss" to "hd_ob4sss" during this upgrade.

An overview of the database changes for this version include:

1. In the Crest table, changed fieldname “old” to “olddatum”.
2. In the Observer table, added the "email" field.
3. In the Contacts table, added the "email" field.
4. Added new fields to the DPARadar and DPAAdapt tables
   to hold new EPRE (Enhanced PREcip) information.
5. Dropped the following tables

   Stage2Result
   LatestBiasLong
   LatestBiasShort
   S2GeneralParams
   S2BiasCalcParams
   S2ggGridParams
   S2mlGridParams
   Stage3Prefs
   Stage3Params
   RWVerif
6. Added the following tables for the Site Specific application:
   SacSmaParams
   SacSmaState
   SSHPConfig
   MonthlyValues
7. Dropped all damcat tables (21 tables).
