APPENDIX E. SHIMS DATABASE STRUCTURE
This appendix provides a listing of the underlying data structure used for storing the information
in SHIMS. Fields that were changed or that are new are printed in italics; tables that are new are
also printed in italics. Some of these fields use the same field names as defined in the Cooperative
Station Service Accountability (CSSA) database.
Each of these tables has key fields and, unless all fields are key fields, also have accompanying
data fields. Every table has the location identifier (Lid) as a key field, as all information is
associated with a station. The order of the fields for the tables is defined so that the key fields are
first; the remaining fields follow thereafter.
