7.1.1  LOCATION FORM  (Page 1)

This form is the master form for all locations.  Its information is grouped in two sections: the
Geographic/Physical Section, and the Observer Section.

Geographic/Physical Section:
    Location:      The location ID or LID.
    Name:          The name of the location.  Don't enter information other than the name; use the appropriate
                   fields.
    Basin:         The river basin the location is in.
    Lat/Lon:       The latitude and longitude of the location in degrees, minutes, and seconds, separated by
                   blanks.
    Elevation:     The elevation of the location, usually not the same as the zero datum.
    Station No:    The climatological identification station number including the climatological division. 
    County:        The county, or parish or borough, name.
    State:         The two upper case letter postal abbreviation for the state.
    Revise:        The date this form was last changed.  This field is not updated automatically unless blank.
    WFO:           The three upper case letter abbreviation of the NWS forecast office. 
    RFC:           The five upper case letter abbreviation of the NWS River Forecast Center.
    HSA:           The three upper case letter abbreviation of the NWS office with the service hydrologist who
                   has responsibility for this location.
    Hydro Unit:    The hydrologic unit number.
    Detail:        The distance and direction from the nearest post office.
    Begin Date:    The date observations began for this location.
    Type:          The types of information this station has.  The choices are: O - observer, R - river gage, 
                   P - precipitation, I - Inactive.
    Net:           The climatologic network the location is in.
                   
Observer Section:
    Surname:       The last name of the observer or the name of the institution taking observations.
    First:         The first and middle names of the observer.  Leave blank for institutions.           
    Address:       The mailing address of the observer.  The two lines underneath can be used.
    City:          The mailing city of the observer.
    St:            The two upper case letter postal abbreviation of the mailing state of the observer.
    Zip:           The zip code of the observer.
    Comms:         The type of communications the observer uses.
    Sponsor:       The sponsoring appropriation of a paid observer.
    Rate:          The monthly fee for the observer.
    Recip:         The office and/or agency that first receives the report.
    Report:        The elements of the observer's report and the reporting criteria.
    DoS:           The beginning date of service of the observer.
    Home:          The home telephone number of the observer.
    Work:          The work or office phone number of the observer.
    SSN:           The social security number of a paid observer.
    Gender:        The gender of the observer.  The choices are: M - male, F - female, I - institution.
    Task No:       The task code of the sponsoring appropriation for a paid observer.
    CD404:         The last four digits of the order number on the CD-404 of a paid observer.
