Q. What does RAXUM stand for?
A:  RFC Archive Database Update and Maintenance

Q:  I often see the acronym “rax” or “RAX” in the documentation, what is it?
A:  rax or RAX indicates the RFC Archive Linux system’s hardware and software in general.

Q:  Where is the bug list located?
A:  The bug list is located on the RFC Group Support web page located at       http://www.nws.noaa.gov/om/water/RFC_support/ and is called “Archiver Bug List”.

Q:  How often is the bug list updated?
A:  The bug list is updated every week within 24-48 hours after the coordination call between       the RFC Support Group and the RAXUM Team Leader.

Q:  Are patches to bugs available before the next build?
A:  Patches are made available to the RFCs as soon as a bug has been fixed and the patch       has been tested at HL and 2 RFCs.

Q:  Can I delete year directories in the flatfiles directory that I will never have any files for?
A:  Yes.

Q:  How do I submit suggestions for new applications or enhancements to existing       applications of the RFC Archive Database/Files System?
A:  Same way you would submit requirements for other hydrologic applications. All requests       should be submitted to the RFC Support Group. The requests should be written up based       on the guidelines that are on the RFC Support Group web page       (http://www.nws.noaa.gov/om/water/RFC_support/ in the section called “How to Write a       Requirements”). Requests submitted for the RFC Archive Database/Files System will be       accumulated separately and passed on to the RAXUM team.

Q:   What version of IBM Informix is on the rax?
A:   IBM Informix IDS Version 9.3.UC1

Q:   What is the Operating System on the rax?
A:   Red Hat Linux Ver. 7.2 with updated versions of the dump & restore commands.
