CHPS Acceleration Team (CAT):

The NWS Employees Organization (NWSEO) has now named a representative for the CHPS project: he is Ron Horwood, Senior Hydrologic Analysis and Support (HAS) forecaster at NERFC.
The team comprises: Hydrologists In Charge (HICs) from ABRFC, CNRFC, NWRFC; Development and Operations Hydrologist (DOH) from NERFC; the Development and Operations Officer (DOO) from the National Operational Hydrologic Remote Sensing Center (NOHRSC); and the OHD Senior Scientist. The support from the members of this team played a crucial part in the success of the CHPS FEWS Pilot project, upon which the CHPS software architecture will be based. The CAT continues to meet via conference call on a weekly basis, and will provide support as the NWS implements CHPS.
