Ruth Everhart of Rural Seymour Received the NWS Benjamin Franklin Award for 55 Years of faithful Cooperative Weather Service. Ruth is the first Indiana Observer to receive this award. Henry Dembowski, Loup City, NE, was presented the Edward H. Stoll Award, a letter of congratulation from Nebraska U.S. Senator Chuck Hagel, Nebraska Governor Mike Johanns and NWS Director Jack Kelly Jr. Also in attendance was Nebraska District 41 State Senator Vickie McDonald. In his span of 50 years as an Observer, Henry has recorded over 19,000 daily observations and has measured just over 100 feet of rain and 110 feet of snow.
