25 Years Length of Service Awards

A 25 Year Length of Service Award was presented to Billy Andrews of Shreveport Cargil Park, LA. From left are NWS Hydrometerological Technician (HMT) Steve Griffin, his parents Frank and Carol Andrews, wife Cathy, Billy Andrews, and NWS DAPM Marion Kuykendall, Shreveport, LA.

The 25 Year Length of Service Award was presented to Lee and John Arnold of Norcatur, KS, by Larry Boyd Cooperative Program Manager (CPM), NWS Goodland, KS. From left are Lee Arnold, Larry Boyd and John Arnold.
Bradley and Roger Bauer of McIntosh, SD, receive a 25 Year Length of Service Award from Glenn Nielsen, HMT, Aberdeen, SD. The Award was presented at the Bauer’s farm. Richard Biddle, Dallas, IA, received his 25 Year Length of Service Award from Brad Fillbach, HMT, Des Moines, IA. Pictured at left is Arthur ‘Skip’ Ten Brock the Cooperative Observer at Raleigh, ND. Skip is receiving his 25 Year Length of Service Award from Vern Roller, CPM/HMT at Bismarck, ND.
A 25 Year Length of Service Award was presented to Lloyd and Eddie Chapman of Lake Providence, LA, by Winston Gilmore, HMT NWS, Jackson, MS. The Chapman brothers started monitoring the precipitation and temperature at Chapman's Drug Store in Lake Providence in 1978. NWS presented Cordell Conley, center, of Lewisville with his 25 Year Length of Service Award. Cordell has faithfully maintained a Fisher-Porter recording rain gage for 25 years. His care for the equipment as well as his timeliness is unsurpassed. Presenting the award are Roger Kenyon, left, HMT, NWS Indianapolis and John Ogren, MIC.

 

Jim South and Tom Graham received a 25 Year Length of Service Institutional award for the Cookeville, TN, WasteWater Treatment Plant. Jim and Tom are two of the main observers at the Water Treatment Plant. The award was presented by NWS Nashville, TN.
Gladys H. Davis of Elliott, MS, retired after reaching 25 years as a Cooperative Observer for NWS. Her Service Award was presented by Mark R. Wilson, left, and Dan Byrd, HMT, NWS Jackson, MS.


A 25 Year Institutional Award was presented to Jimmy Murphy at the Dickson, TN, Water Plant. The award was presented by NWS Nashville, TN.

John Edgecombe Jr. received a 25 Year Length of Service Award for his work as a Cooperative Weather Observer in Geneva, NE. The award plaque was presented by Steve Carmel, NWS Hastings, NE. Lanette Edmonson, observer at Kendalia, TX, received a 25 Year Length of Service Award. from Pat Mcdonald, HMT, NWS San Antonio, TX. Galen Eiben, observer at Shell Rock, received a 25 Year Length of Service Award from Steve Teachout, HMT, Des Moines, IA..
Paul Fobian, observer at New Hartford, IA, received a 25 Year Length of Service Award from Peter Corrigan, Service Hydrologist, Des Moines, IA. Elizabeth Fronheiser, observer, Bechtelsville, PA, was presented a 25 Year Length of Service Award by Bill Christ, HMT, NWS Philadelphia, PA. NWS recently honored the Greenfield, IN,Water Filtration Plant with a 25 Year Length of Service Award. A 25 Year Institutional Length of Service Award was presented to Radio Station KSTC, Sterling, CO. The award was accepted by Betty Carlson, right, station manager. Carl Burroughs, HMT, Boulder, CO, made the presentation.

A 25 Year Institutional Length of Service Award was presented to the Mason City Water Treatment Plant, Mason City, IA, by Steve Teachout, HMT, Des Moines. Accepting the award was Bob Nessett, plant staff.

25 Year Institutional Length of Service Award was presented to the Franklin Township Municipal Sanitary Authority Employees, in Murrysville, PA. The award was presented by Bob Coblentz, DAPM, NWS Pittsburgh, PA  
Henry Netardus of Jourdanton, TX, received a 25 Year Length of Service Award for his commitment to the NWS cooperative observer program. The award was presented by NWS San Antonio, TX.

 

A 25 Year Institutional Length of Service Award was presented to the Newport, NH, Waste Water Treatment Facility. Pictured from left are James F. Brown, Arnold Greenleaf, primary observer, and James R. Mansfield. The award was presented by NWS Portland, ME.
William J. Nitsch was presented with a 25 Year Length of Service Award by NWS for his commitment to this NWS program.

Michael Overturf was the recipient of a 25 Year Length of Service Award for his work as a Cooperative Weather Observer in Nebraska. The award plaque was presented by Steve Carmel, NWS Hastings, NE.

Roitsch, Observer at La Grange, TX, was presented a 25 Year Length of Service Award by Joe Baskin, HMT, NWS San Antonio, TX.
Duane Schmader, of the Cook Forest State Park, PA, Maintenance Staff, received a Cooperative Observer 25 Year Length of Service Award on behalf of the maintenance staff. Bertha and Nick Schmidt show their 25 Year Length of Service Award for service at Breien, ND. They have reported temperature, precipitation and snow in addition to calling in severe weather information. Christopher Simmons of Lansford, ND, was presented with his 25 Year Length of Service Award by Sandra Wiche, CPM, Bismarck, ND.
Frank J. Taylor, DAPM, NWS Atlanta, GA, presented Nancy W. Spence of station Cumming, GA, with her 25 Year Length of Service Award. Tallulah Water Service in Madison Parish, LA, reached 25 years as an NWS Cooperative Observer. HMT Mark R. Wilson, NWS Jackson, MS, presented the award to Carlton Whitaker, plant observer. Webster City, IA, Observer, KQWC Radio Station received a 25 Year Institutional Award.
