Climate Services Division's principal liaison for climate and climate service issues at the international level.

PROFESSIONAL ACTIVITY:

As Program Manager for the NOAA-CIRES Western Water Assessment, Ms. Perfect gained significant experience in the coordination and management of an interdisciplinary research team. The project, which links climate variability with water resources and society, included over twenty-five NOAA, university, and consulting researchers, with specialties in climate forecasting, hydrology, water quality, endangered species, land use and population trends, social sciences, economics, law, and policy. As the primary contact for the project, she was also involved in outreach activities, including development of stakeholder contacts.

 

Prior to her work with the Western Water Assessment, Ms. Perfect was a hydrologist with the U.S. Department of Interior, where her work focused on the Death Valley region of Nevada and California. She gained considerable experience in data analysis and GIS, as part of a USGS team that developed a three-dimensional groundwater flow model of the Death Valley region. Following this, she gained experience in policy, while working on issues for Death Valley and other National Parks for the Water Rights Branch of the National Park Service (NPS).

 

PERSONAL:

Ms. Perfect is an amateur artist, who is interested in world cultures.
