Transportation

CSD and CPC are located close to Washington D.C. and have good transportation facilities between the two offices. Both offices are located within walking distance of a metro station: "Silver Spring" on the red line for CSD and "Branch Avenue" on the green line for CPC. To see metroline click here.

There is a good connection between Silver Spring and all three Washington, DC airports:

Ronald Regan National airport has a metro line to the airport

Washington Dulles Airport - shuttle ($26-$30) or bus 5A and metro.

Baltimore Washington Airport - shuttle ($26-$37) or, on weekdays only, BWI airport shuttle to the Penn line train station, train to Washington DCUnion Station and metro.

Prerequisites

The Partnership Program only prerequisites are an interest in climate prediction services, and the opportunity and strong motivation to develop a local or regional partnership in these services between an NWS office and another organization. This opportunity and motivation should be clearly expressed in the application essay.
