Climate Prediction Assessments Workshop
October 28 - 30, 2002, NWS's Climate Services Division, in conjunction with OGP and the NOAA Climate Office, sponsored the Climate Prediction Assessments Workshop (CPAW) in Alexandria, Virginia. This forum was an opportunity for the research and operations communities to identify research and applications on the use and impacts of climate forecasts, to promote interactions between climate-sensitive integrated research and service communities, and too assess the impact of climate forecasts on environmental-societal interactions. The forum had over 40 speakers and nearly 100 attendees. CPAW will be held regularly on an annual or biannual basis. Meeting logistics were handled by UCAR. See the links below for a summary of the meeting, pictures from the meeting, and other event documentation.
