SUBJECT: Seeking Input by July 3, 2014, on Expanded

Access to National Weather Service Numerical Weather

         Prediction Model Information

The NWS is considering providing more comprehensive access to NWS

operational numerical weather prediction (NWP) model information.

NWS runs operational NWP models on high-performance computers,

and samples these models during their execution to produce and

disseminate the model output products used by NWS and the entire

weather enterprise. NWS is proposing to create an environment to

help determine methods by which data from these models may be

accessed in higher detail in time and space, as well as access to

additional NWP data that are not currently provided.

Detailed information on this proposal is provided at:

http://weather.gov/sp/OEIS_proposal.pdf

NWS is currently seeking input on this proposal and requests for

additional data sets to be provided by NWS. Input and requests

may be provided to the following contact, by July 3, 2014:

Ben Kyger

Director, NCEP Central Operations
