Subject: Format of U.S. Hazards and Global Tropics Hazards
Assessments effective Sep 12 2011
The U.S. Hazards Assessment and
the Global Tropics Hazards and Benefits Assessment names will be changed. The
term "assessment" will be replaced with "outlook."
The format of the U.S. Hazards
Assessment will also change. The new format will separate the product forecast
period, covering 3-14 days into the future, into two forecast periods:
3-7 days into the future
8-14 days into the future
The four maps will be produced
for each forecast period
Precipitation-related Hazards
Temperature/Wind-related Hazards
Drought/Wildfire-related Hazards
Composite of all
Hazards.
The content of the maps will be
similar to the ones produced now for this product.
