Subject:  NDBC Buoy 41012 has been dis-established February 19, 2014

Buoy 41012, located about 40 nautical miles east northeast of St.

Augustine, FL, at coordinates 30.042 North, 80.534 West, was dis-

established on February 19, 2014.  The buoy has been retrieved and

returned to the National Data Buoy Center (NDBC).

The National Ocean Service Coastal Storms Program (CSP) discontinued

sponsorship of NDBC buoy 41012 in December 2012. Buoy 41012 was

deployed in June 2002. CSP typically does not provide long term

funding for buoys. The CSP, NDBC and NWS sought an alternative funding

source for this buoy but were unsuccessful. For the latest information
