Subject:  Changes to Alaska Ice Forecasting Services

          Effective June 30 2014

 

Effective Monday, June 30, 2014, the NWS Weather Forecast Office

(WFO) in Anchorage, AK (ANC) will expand its ice forecasting

services to 7 days a week. The current ice forecasts are produced

Monday through Friday, per the schedule in Table 1 below.

Starting June 30, the forecasts will be produced according to the

schedule in Table 2 below.

Users do not need to make any changes to their systems to

continue receiving the current products.

 

In addition, beginning August 1, 2014, the Full Color Sea Ice

Analysis will gain a WMO Header. This change will make the

product retrievable through automatic systems. This product will

still be available in its current format, on the web:
