Subject:   Western Region Web Changes: New Layout, and Secure

           Communications effective April 18, 2017


On or shortly after April 18, 2017, all Western Region (WR) NWS

Weather Forecast Offices (WFOs), and Center Weather Service

Units (CWSUs) will migrate to a new layout on the front page of

their web home pages.


This change is in response to a required web infrastructure

consolidation. The change will provide office-to-office

consistency because the layout of the home page will be set

across the Region.


In addition, per Office of Management and Budget (OMB) directive

M-15-13, all publicly accessible federal websites and services,

namely, and WR River Forecast Centers (RFCs). 

will only provide service through a secure connection (https).
