Subject:   Addition of ESTOFS Atlantic SHEF

           Effective January 31, 2018

 

Effective on or about Wednesday, January 31, 2018, beginning

with the 1200 Universal Coordinated Time (UTC) cycle, the

National Centers for Environmental Prediction (NCEP) will add

the Extratropical Surge and Tide Operational Forecast System

(ESTOFS) Atlantic model Standard Hydrological Exchange Format

(SHEF) E products to NOAAPORT/SBN. NCEP will also correct the

SHEF identifiers on NCEP Web Services.

 

- Additional three text products to be added to NOAAPORT/SBN:

 

1. Harmonic tidal prediction (astronomical tides)

SXUS01 KWBM TIBEA (HMIFB)

 

2. Combined water level (surges and tides)

SXUS02 KWBM TIBEA (HMIFC)

 

3. Sub-tidal water levels (isolated surges)

SXUS03 KWBM TIBEA (HMIFD)

 

Distributed 4 cycles/day at 00, 06, 12, 18 UTC at 500KB per

product.

 

- Changes to SHEF ID on NCEP Web Services:

names: 

estofs.atl.tCCz.points.cwl.shef   HMIFU -> HMIFC

estofs.atl.tCCz.points.htp.shef   HMIFU -> HMIFB

estofs.atl.tCCz.points.swl.shef   HMIFU -> HMIFD

Where CC is cycle 00, 06, 12 or 18

 

NCEP urges all users to ensure their decoders can handle changes

in content order and volume changes. These elements may change

with future NCEP model implementations. NCEP will make every

attempt to alert users to these changes before implementation.
