SUBJECT:  Seven Additional NWS Upper Air Stations to Use GPS

          Lockheed Martin LMS-6 Radiosonde with the Radiosonde

          Replacement Systems (RRS) starting about December 11.


Seven NWS upper Air sites are scheduled to transition from the

GPS Lockheed Martin Mark IIA radiosonde to the GPS Lockheed

Martin LMS-6 radiosonde on or about the dates listed below.

No missed observations are expected to occur during the equipment

transition. The WMO Radiosonde Identification Code for the

LMS-6 Radiosonde is 82.
