SUBJECT:  Alaska Aviation Weather Unit to Issue AIRMETs

          Three Times Per Day Effective September 18, 2014       

 

The following changes have no impact on NOAA Weather Wire Service

subscribers.

 

Effective 700 AM Alaska Daylight Time (AKDT), 1500 Coordinated

Universal Time (UTC) September 18, 2014, the Alaska Aviation

Weather Unit will begin issuing AIRMETs 3 times per day.

 

The new issuance times will be 415 AM, 1215 PM, and 815 PM Local

Alaska Time, or 0515 UTC, 1315, and 2115 UTC during standard time

and 0415, 1215, and 2015 UTC during daylight savings time. Each

AIRMET will be valid for 8 hours from the initial issuance time. 

Updates will be provided as needed.

WAAK49PAWU
