SUBJECT:  Eight NWS Upper Air Stations to Use GPS Lockheed

          Martin LMS-6 403 MHz Radiosonde with the Lockheed

          Martin Groundstation (LMG) starting between

          August 15, 2016, and October 15, 2016


Between August 15, 2016, and October 15, 2016, the 8 NWS upper

air sites listed below are scheduled to transition from the

Radiosonde Replacement System (RRS) to the Lockheed Martin

Groundstation (LMG) system and the Lockheed Martin LMS-6 GPS 403

MHz radiosonde. These offices will continue to use the new

radiosondes until further notice.

No missed observations are expected to occur during the

equipment transition. The WMO Radiosonde Identification Code for

the 403 MHz LMS-6 Radiosonde is 11.
