Branch Responsibilities
- Provides operations
support for AWIPS program
- Principal liaison with field for AWIPS operations
including near-real-time Site Support Team technical support
- COTR for
AWIPS operations and maintenance contracts
- Responsible for AWIPS software
Installation
Manager services including test and validation of installation
instructions - Supports upper air and observing systems programs

Manages operational support for new and existing systems
- Focal point for operational
observing systems for field
- Maintains network configurations and reporting
of stations
- Provides logistics and maintenance procedures of observing systems
- Provides technical software support to NWS field offices
- Develops
software enhancements and maintenance fixes for operational systems
- Develops
new systems for collection and distribution of weather observations
- Performs system tests and operational acceptance testing/demonstrations for
modifications to existing systems and for new NWS systems
- Develops test plans
and test procedures and surveys
- Prepare reports on test results and recommendations
