Operational Test

Operational testing is a formal evaluation of system capabilities at one or more field sites (i.e., usually at least one from each Weather Service Region ) where the system is used to produce products in an operational environment. This testing is a prelude to commissioning (if required) and national implementation. Even though the testing takes place at an opertional field site, it is still conducted under controlled conditions as far as practicable without impacting normal operations.
