NWS Indianapolis, IN, recognizing more than 28 28 years of outstanding service to America by naming Tipton, IN, resident Warren Baird a recipient of Thomas Jefferson Award. Gary Foltz, deputy directory of the NWS Central Region Headquarters, presented the award during a ceremony at the Baird residence.In attendance were John Ogren, Meteorologist in Charge, Indianapolis, IN, Roger Kenyon and Ed Terrell, Hydrometeorological Technicians and Albert Shipe, Service Hydrologist.

see caption belowAlice Erickson received a Special Service Award at the her retirement celebration. The ceremony took place at the Pipestone National Monument, Pipestone, MN. Alice was being honored for her 30 year career with the U.S. Park Service. Donald Morin, DAPM, for the Sioux Falls NWS presented the Special Award. Also pictured is Glen Livermont, who will take over the duties of observer for the station.
