SUBJECT: Soliciting Comments until June 15, 2016, on

         Proposed Changes to the Distribution Times of the

         Northern Hemispheric Chart and Day 4-5 and Day 6-7

         Quantitative Precipitation Forecasts

 

The NWS Weather Prediction Center (WPC) is accepting comments

until June 15, 2016, on a proposal to change distribution times

of the Northern Hemispheric Chart and Day 4-5 and Day 6-7

Quantitative Precipitation Forecasts (QPFs). This change

improves internal workflow in the center.

 

NWS is proposing to change the Northern Hemispheric Chart

distribution from 1900 Coordinated Universal Time (UTC) to 

2030 UTC (1.5 h later). This change would affect the following

Northern Hemispheric Redbook Graphics/World Meteorological

Organization (WMO) IDs:

 

PPHK01 KWBC     Day 3

PPHM01 KWBC     Day 4

PPHO01 KWBC     Day 5

PPTG98 KWBC     Day 6

PPTR98 KWBC     Day 7

 

NWS is proposing to change the Day 4-5 and Day 6-7 QPFs from

2030 UTC (current) to 1930 UTC (1 hour earlier). This change

would affect the following WMO IDs/AWIPS headers:

 

LEMO98 KWNH    Day 4-5 QPF Grib2

LEMR98 KWNH    Day 6-7 QPF Grib2

PEIO46 KWBC    Day 4-5 QPF Redbook Graphic

PEIS46 KWBC    Day 6-7 QPF Redbook Graphic

 

There are no proposed changes to the night shift products.
