Subject: Discontinuing Experimental Aviation Impact Maps

         Effective August 8, 2014

Effective Friday, August 8, 2014, at 1800 Coordinated Universal

Time (UTC), the NWS will discontinue the experimental Aviation

Impact Maps available online at:

and under the menu items as follows:

[PR] Aviation_Impact_Thunder_All_Levels

[PR] Aviation_Impact_Thunder_>=_25000_Feet

[PR] Aviation_Impact_Thunder_<=10000_Feet

[PR] Aviation_Impact_Tops_>=37000_Feet

[PR] Aviation_Normal_>=_All_Levels

[PR] Aviation_Normal_>=_25000_Feet

[PR] Aviation_Normal_<=_10000_Feet

The review period for the experimental Aviation Impact Maps ended

May 31, 2013. The aircraft position data used to construct these

maps is out of date and based on 2003-2008 data. The feedback did

not provide justification for updating the position data and

continuing the experimental Impact Maps.
