Subject: Soliciting Comments until November 30, 2014, on

         Experimental Spanish Language Hurricane Local Statement

         issued by the NWS Weather Forecast Office

         in Brownsville, TX.


Effective immediately and continuing through November 30, 2014,

the NWS Weather Forecast Office (WFO) in Brownsville, TX, is

seeking feedback on its Experimental Spanish Language Hurricane

Local Statement (HLS).


The Spanish HLS will contain the same segmented information that

the English version of the HLS has, but will not contain Valid

Time Event Codes (VTEC). The product is designed to limit

potential ambiguities in translation from English and provide the

media, emergency managers and related staff, private sector

interests, and the general public with a clear and concise

product for distribution and use in decisions related to the

protection of life and property.


The product will be issued based on the same criteria and at the

same time as the English product and will be available online at:


The product also will be sent over the Satellite Broadcast

Network (SBN)/NOAAPort with the WMO Heading and AWIPS ID below:
