Subject:  Discontinuation of the Southeast Louisiana and South

          Mississippi Agricultural Reports (AGO) and Changes to

          the Regional Temperature and Precipitation (RTP)

          Product from Weather Forecast Office (WFO) New

          Orleans/Baton Rouge, LA, Effective April 30, 2014


Effective Wednesday, April 30, 2014, at 1200 Coordinated

Universal Time (UTC), WFO New Orleans/Baton Rouge (LIX) will

discontinue the Southeast Louisiana and South Mississippi

Agricultural Reports (AGO), incorporate AGO information into the

Regional Temperature and Precipitation (RTP) product and change

the issuance time of the RTP.


Effective April 30, 2014, the RTP will contain data from

automated stations such as the Automated Surface Observing System

(ASOS) and the Automated Weather Observing System (AWOS), and

manual stations such as the Cooperative Weather Observer Network. 

The RTP also will be issued three times daily.


This change provides more robust data to local, regional and

national partners and users. The order of individual stations

within the RTP will be adjusted to better reflect data sources.
