Subject:  Corrected:  Experimental Satellite Rainfall 

          Quantitative Precipitation Estimates (QPE) Text

          Product will transition from experimental status to

          Operational status effective September 1, 2014


Corrected to remove the node (MIA) from the AWIPS/WMO headers in

the third paragraph because no node is specified for national



Beginning September 1, 2014, the NWS National Hurricane Center 

(NHC) Tropical Analysis and Forecast Branch (TAFB) will provide,

on an operational basis, the event-driven Satellite Rainfall QPE

text product for tropical cyclones and tropical disturbances

within the NHC and Central Pacific Hurricane Center areas of

responsibility. The text product replaces the text Satellite

Tropical Disturbance Rainfall Estimate Product NWS discontinued

on July 16 2013.


The text product will be issued under the following AWIPS/WMO



-STDECA/TCCA21 KNHC, for systems in the Caribbean east of 67W

-STDCCA/TCCA22 KNHC for systems between 67W and 80W

-STDWCA/TCCA23 KNHC for systems west of 80W   


Users should ensure their systems can receive these products.
