Subject: Termination of USRCRN Observation Data on or about

         June 1, 2014

 

Funding for the U.S. Regional Climate Reference Network (USRCRN)

was terminated as part of the FY14 Omnibus budget law. As a

result, preparations are underway to begin decommissioning the

network. The first step in this process will be to deactivate the

data feed to NWS websites. Site data from USRCRN sites in

Colorado, Utah, New Mexico and Arizona will cease to be ingested

and recorded by NWS. This deactivation is expected to occur on,

or about June 1, 2014.

 

This action is the first step in the decommissioning process.

Additional steps are being planned for the eventual removal of

these USRCRN sites. Information on the USRCRN program can be
